Town Planning
The Council is the responsible authority for Town Planning administration in the Shire of Harvey. All land within the Shire is zoned as a particular use, e.g. Residential, Industrial, Special Rural, which has a number of restrictions and conditions, as outlined below:-
- In “Special Residential” zones which include Leschenault Parklands, Marina Waters, Riverlands, Ashmere Heights, Wildflower Woods Estate, Australind Waters, Bel Ve Dere Estate, Westgarth, Meadow Landings, Warawarrup, Logue Road and Roelands.
- In “Special Rural” zones at Cookernup, Uduc, Logue Road, Roelands and Australind.

In “Places of Landscape Value” which includes all land adjacent to, and west of, the Old Coast Road; and all land east of the South Western Highway.
- Intensification or change of land use and development within the Peel-Harvey Drainage Catchment in the northern portion of the Shire.
- Clearing of reminant vegetation on private property.
- Building envelopes in the “Special Rural” and “Special Residential” zones.
- Development in the Harvey, Brunswick, Kemerton and Australind Industrial areas.
- Operating a business from your place of residence.
