Cookernup PlaygroundAnnually, Council makes a number of presentations/awards to nominated residents in the Shire of Harvey to recognise the outstanding achievements and significant contributions individuals make within the Shire of Harvey. Volunteers connect closely with the local community to build vibrant places to live, work and play. In some cases, without volunteer involvement the services and programs within the Shire would be limited or non existent. Australia Day Awards have formed an integral part of Australia Day celebrations for the past 20 years. The Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Awards give the community the opportunity to recognise the individuals and groups making outstanding contributions to the Shire of Harvey community through their inspiring actions and dedicated service. The recognition of these people helps foster pride and strengthens our communities by acknowledging the positive contribution and Australian characteristics of which we are proud.

The Shire of Harvey has three active committees that nominate annually for the Australia Day Active Citizenship Awards. These are Harvey, Australind and Brunswick Junction.

Nominations for the Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Awards shall be given in one of the following categories for each of the towns of Harvey,  Australind and Brunswick Junction;
