The Shire of Harvey is committed to maintaining safe and pleasant community spaces for residents and visitors.
The Shire of Harvey Community Safety and Crime Prevention Committee meets to devise strategies that respond to community safety concerns. The Committee, which includes Councilors, Shire of Harvey staff, local Police and community members have been involved in a number of projects to ensure community members feel safe in our Shire, including:
The Shire of Harvey’s Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan is a result of a partnership between the State Government of Western Australia and the Shire of Harvey. The Plan identifies community safety and crime prevention priorities for the Shire of Harvey. It also documents the strategies and activities that will be implemented and evaluated.
The objectives of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan are to:
As a result of community consultation, the plan will also be a useful tool that can be used by various stakeholders to develop future opportunities.
