The Shire of Harvey and the Department of Sport and Recreation are working in partnership to assist eligible families to receive up to $200 annually for each of their children aged between 5 – 18 years, to subsidise fees to join a sport and recreation club. Eligible families include those with valid Health Care Cards or a Pension Concession Card, or those referred by other community groups, such as schools, juvenile justice teams, government agencies and health practitioners.

How to apply:

  1. Kids and Parents/Guardians can obtain an application form
  2. The Parent/Guardian fills in the application and takes it to be validated at the Shire of Harvey (Australind or Harvey Office). A photocopy of the Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card must be attached.
  3. The Parent/Guardian takes the voucher to the sport or recreation club for processing when registering their children. The club will then invoice the local government.

For more information regarding Kidsport please refer to the brochure.

KidSport grants are funded primarily by the Department of Sport and Recreation.

Community Grants Fund

The Shire of Harvey offers community and sporting not for profit organisations the opportunity to submit an application to be included in the Shire’s Annual Budget.  Applications are advertised in March- May each year.

Local community and sporting groups are encouraged to apply for funding for a variety of purposes, which may include projects with a start and end date, equipment, services, events or works. The applicant must demonstrate a strong connection or benefit to communities of the Shire of Harvey. Applications with long term outcomes are highly regarded.

The Shire of Harvey receives a large number of applications each year and is not always able to assist everyone. Applications will be seen as more favourable if applicants can demonstrate their proposal is cost effective and they have sought funding/in kind support from other sources.

Community Benefits Package- Myalup and Binningup Only

In partnership with the Water Corporation, a seperate fund has been established for the benefit of the Shire's coastal communities in and around the town sites of Myalup and Binningup. This pool of money is referred to as the Community Benefits Package. Applicants who wish to apply for the Community Benefits Package are still required to follow usual budgetory processes and complete Community Benefits Application.

Applications have now closed for 2012 Budget Submissions and Community Benefits Package.
