With continued population growth occurring within the Shire, the Planning and Environment Department have a commitment to ensuring that appropriate outcomes are achieved between both the built and natural environments.
The Shire of Harvey adopts initiatives to ensure that adequate forms of development occur from a planning perspective, whilst considering how a proposal will interact with an ecological outlook.
While it is not always possible to ensure environmental impacts are avoided, the Shire of Harvey is committed to focusing its efforts on reducing impacts wherever possible. Where there is an opportunity available, the Shire will strive to create a positive outcome for the ecological communities that play an important role throughout the area. These communities are recognised as playing an intricate role in the way the built environment and the people live.
