The Shire of Harvey’s Environmental Health department aims to ensure the sale and supply of safe and suitable food to residents and visitors. Our focus is to work cooperatively with business operators to achieve the best possible food safety outcomes.
To achieve this, we undertake routine assessments of food businesses and provide advice on matters such as food hygiene and procedures. The Shire also provides free online food training, carry out routine food sampling and investigate complaints from the public.
It is a legal respon
sibility that all food business operators ensure that staff working within their business have adequate skills and knowledge in relation to the tasks they are undertaking. This is an important tool in ensuring safe food and the Shire’s Environmental Health Officers actively enforce this requirement.
I'M ALERT is a free online food safety course that has been developed by qualified and experienced Environmental
Health professionals and is equivalent in scope to a two-day consultant delivered course.
The program is easy to follow, includes an entertaining presentation as well as interactive quizzes. A training acknowledgement form can be printed upon completion and be kept as a part of your records.
If you would like to do this course just log on to www.harvey.imalert.com.au.
