Refuse Sites

Gazetted landfill disposal sites are situated at the locations listed below and are available for disposal of refuse. The disposal of small quantities of asbestos is allowed at the Richarson Road site, Harvey. Larger quantities must be directed to the Stanley Road site, Leschenault by appointment.

Tip Pass Card (attached to yearly rates notice)

Ratepayers serviced with a 240L mobile rubbish bin will receive a tip pass card with 4 free entries, for a vehicle listed in a light category only. This card must be shown to attendant for counter punching. For ratepayers renting their properties, please ensure that the tip pass card is passed on to the tenants. Commercial operators attempting to use these passes at the landfill will be refused.

Richardson Road Refuse Site Harvey

Saturday to Sunday 8.00am to 5.30pm

Open 7 days a week (except Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Years Day). A gate attendant will oversee use of the site during operating hours.

Programs

To reduce waste to landfill and reduce environmental hazards the following programs are in place:

Drummuster Collection - Empty chemical drums which comply with the Drummuster recycling requirements can be taken to the Richardson Road landfill by appointment made directly with the landfill site manager.

Dry Cell Batteries - Used dry cell batteries can be dropped off at Council's Administration Office in Harvey just look out for the bright blue bin.

Mobile Muster - Used mobile phones can be disposed of at Council’s Administration Office in Harvey.

Waste Oil - A waste oil collection facility is available for free of charge use at both landfill sites. This however is only for domestic use not commercial quantities.

Free Electronic Waste Recycling and Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off Service at Refuse Sites

The following electronic items will be accepted:

  • Computer monitors, hard drives, key boards, printers
  • Computer games and consols
  • TVs, DVD/VHS players, stereo systems and the like
  • Microwaves, kettles, toasters
  • Phones


Household Hazardous Waste can be dropped off at the same location. The following items will be accepted:

  • Auto; coolants, brake/clutch fluids
  • Batteries, car & household
  • Chemicals; pool & garden, pesticides, herbicides
  • Flammable liquids
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Paint, oil, acrylic waterbuses, solvents
  • Signal flares
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Acids & alkalines
  • Glues & solvents
  • Sewing machines
  • Fans
