Yarloop and Cookernup Place Advisory Group

The Shire of Harvey’s Advisory Groups aim to improve community engagement and inform the Shire of needs and aspirations in the community.

Each Advisory Group has Council Representatives and Community Representatives.

Role of the Group

To advise the Shire of Harvey on strategies and policies for the Yarloop and Cookernup communities.

Objectives of the Group

  • Assist the Shire of Harvey to engage the community about priority projects, services and facilities.
  • Assist the Shire of Harvey to prioritise the Strategic Community Plan strategies and projects.
  • Assist the Shire of Harvey to identify opportunities for community development through creative utilisation of existing resources and assets.
  • Assist the Shire of Harvey by collectively identifying, supporting and working towards projects that serve to build community pride and capacity.

Helen Alexander              

Helen has lived in Yarloop for over 33 years and is a life member of the Bowling Club, a past member of the Alcoa Harvey Sustainability Committee, and was integral in the development of the current CRC.

Ian Mills

Ian is interested in seeing the community progress and rebuild into the future. He has a strong passion for seeing the town move forward into a bright and vibrant future.

Jac Taylor 

As a Cookernup resident, Jac believes it is important for the community to have a clear avenue to connect with the Shire and with their sister town Yarloop, regarding future directions.

Janice Bathurst

Janice is an established artist with a Master of Visual Arts. Her mediums include painting and textile art such as natural dye and stitch.

Julie-Ann Ford

Julie-Ann s currently the Manager of the Yarloop CRC. She has a well-rounded knowledge of Yarloop and the community.

Kathryn Camisa

Kathryn has a broad understanding and knowledge of the district and environment including various roles in local community groups.

Tristan Payne 

Having firsthand knowledge as a wheelchair user, Tristian, a disability support worker, is focused on advocating for a more accessible community for himself and others.
Phillip GarsidePhillip is a local business owner who is keen to be involved in his community.
