Benefits and conditions

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government Officers’ (WA) Award 2021 with a salary payable of Level 6 to 7 ($83,223 to $94,714) per annum depending on qualifications and experience and benefits such as:

  • Superannuation of 11.5 per cent occupational superannuation from date of commencement, with an opportunity for the Shire to match an employee’s voluntary contribution of 5 or 6 per cent to their nominated plan.
  • A mobile phone for business use in accordance with Shire Policy.
  • Professional memberships up to the value of $200.
  • A probationary period of three months is applicable to this position.
  • Full-time position, located at the Australind Administration Building, with flexible working options available. You may be required to work at other locations throughout the Shire as directed by your reporting officer.
  • Four weeks paid annual leave, including a 17.5 per cent leave loading.
  • One rostered day off is available after every 19 working days. 
  • Free membership to the Leschenault Leisure Centre, the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre and the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool.

A medical examination and current police clearance will be required prior to appointment, costs to be reimbursed by the Shire.
