Developed with the support of members of the Harvey Aboriginal Corporation, this program provides an opportunity to learn, connect and explore Noongar culture and knowledge throughout the changing seasons.

This is the Kambarang (Noongar season of birth and the second spring) program, introducing a special time when bush foods and fruits are plentiful. It explores the significance of plants, trees and animals in the cultural practices and beliefs associated with the Kambarang season. It also explores how the blossoms of trees signify a change in season and provide a clear indication of upcoming changes in the weather.

Session 1: Moodjar (Christmas Tree)

Learn how the Moodjar plays a role in Noongar cultural stories. Explore the changing colours from the Djilba season, from bright yellow blossoms to the burnt yellow and orange colours of the Moodjar (Christmas Tree). Gather to listen to a Dreaming story and learn about the significance of the Moodjar.

This session highlights respect for and custodianship of cultural knowledge while exploring the deep relationship between people, place and culture.

Tickets are free, registrations are essential.

Get your free ticket

Future Kambarang Sessions

Session 2: Worala (weather) – Tuesday 10 November, 2026

Session 3: Barna on Boodja (Animals on Country) – Tuesday 24 November, 2026

Session 4: Dek and Marlak Mereny (Plants and Bush Food) – Tuesday 1 December, 2026

[66
post-3300","event","type-event","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","event-category-shows
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.7 -
