Free craft packs
During the school holidays, Harvey and Australind Libraries will be giving away exciting holiday packs to primary school children. The pack will contain craft materials, activities, drawing and more.
To register for a pack at Harvey Library please call the library on 9729 0390.
To register for a pack at Australind Library please call the library on 9797 4590. One pack per family, given out on a first-come, first-served basis. The packs can be collected from the library during the July holidays.
iPads for loan
Thanks to a Be Connected grant the Harvey Library now has four iPads to lend out to customers who are feeling isolated. Staff can also assist you with other technology enquiries.
The One Library network is the first of its kind in Western Australia and connects 24 libraries in 12 Shires in the South West, giving greater access to patrons. The One Library network items can easily be requested online. Patrons can borrow and return books at any of the libraries in the One Library system. Your current library card can be used at any of the following libraries: Australind, Balingup, Binningup, Boddington, Boyanup, Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Bunbury, Busselton, Capel, Dalyellup, Dardanup, Donnybrook, Dunsborough, Eaton, Harvey, Manjimup, Nannup, Northcliffe, Pemberton, Walpole, Waroona, Withers and Yarloop.
General Library Information
The Shire of Harvey has four public libraries located in Harvey, Australind, Binningup and Yarloop.
Borrowing up to 30 items per full membership, all items available for three-week loan include:
- Fiction books
- Non- fiction books
- Large print
- Junior books
- Kindergarten books
- CDs and MP3s
- Toys and puzzles
- Free statewide inter-library loans
- Foreign language material and musical scores may be borrowed through the inter-library loan system
South West Consortia Loans
Public Library Services in WA have a combined stock of more than two million items. Requests to borrow items from this stock can be made through your local library, subject to regulations recently implemented by the State Library. These regulations restrict borrowing of the following items:
- Books that are less than 12 months old.
- Junior and Young Adult items.
- DVDs, CDs and MP3s.
