A new Destination Harvey Region team is ready to implement the Shire’s first Tourism Road Map to enhance the visitor economy.

Driving the change and delivering the plan will be the newly appointed team made up of Tourism Development and Industry Support Officer Trish Palmonari and Destination Marketing Officer Willow Springate.

A Destination Event Officer will join the team in July 2022.

The team has extensive regional, state and national tourism and communications experience with recognised tourism related organisations. The Destination Harvey Region Business Unit will work in collaboration with industry and stakeholders to grow the visitor economy.

Shire of Harvey President Paul Gillett said the Shire has great confidence in the Harvey Region’s untapped tourism potential.

“The Shire is committed helping grow and enhance the local visitor economy,” Cr Gillett said.

“We look forward to working with the community and local businesses as we promote the Harvey Region as a key visitor destination.

“The Shire will be looking to collaborate and connect with like-minded individuals, businesses and organisations which is critical to developing the Harvey region into the future.”

The Shire will soon be calling for Expressions of Interest for nominations for a Harvey Region Tourism Advisory Group.
