2013 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION

At the close of nominations on Thursday 12th September 2013, six (6) nominations were received for the six (6) vacancies on the Council of the Shire of Harvey.  As a result, the persons listed below have been elected unopposed for four (4) year terms expiring on 21st October 2017.

Derrek Simpson
Bill Adams

The terms of the newly elected Councillors commence on 19th October 2013.  All newly elected Councillors will be sworn in at a Special Council meeting on Monday 21st October 2013.

Retiring Councillors, Susan Marshall, Elaine Hill and Robert Bertolini did not seek re-election.

A Breath of Fresh Air

This website is designed to assist the local community, businesses and visitors to the region. Encompassing an area of approximately 1,766 km2 and a growing population of 25,924 (ABS, June 2013) the Shire of Harvey is located in the South West region of Western Australia, a leisurely one and a half hours drive from Perth.

The Shire of Harvey’s main Administration Centre is located on Uduc Road, Harvey and a Sub Administration Office on Mulgara Street, Australind.

TENDER T082014 – SHIRE OF HARVEY

COASTAL HAZARD RISK MANAGEMENT ADAPTATION PLAN

Tenders are invited for the Shire of Harvey Coastal Hazard Risk Management Adaptation Plan.

Details of the tender and specifications of requirements are available by clicking here to download the Tender Package. For further information please contact Joanne Ludbrook at the Peron Naturaliste Partnership (PNP) on (08) 9550 3243 or Simon Hall at the Shire of Harvey on (08) 9729 0300 during normal office hours.

Tenders close at 3.30pm Friday, 14th November 2014 at Council's Administration Centre, 102 Uduc Road, Harvey.  Mailing address PO Box 500, Harvey WA 6220.

Tenders shall be submitted in a sealed, endorsed envelope marked as follows: - eg “TENDER T082014 – COASTAL HAZARD RISK MANAGEMENT ADAPTATION PLAN”

Late tenders will not be considered. Electronic Mail and Facsimile Tenders will not be accepted.

The lowest price, or any tender, will not necessarily be accepted.

The Shire of Harvey invites quotations from suitably qualified consultants to undertake the following study:

Greater Bunbury Region Local Government Recreation Centre Vacation Childcare Project – Review

This study includes the review of vacation care programs operated within the Shire of Harvey and City of Bunbury. Project activities will include program feasibility, exploration and development of shared policies and procedures, quality improvement plans and resource sharing initiatives.

A copy of the study brief is available at the below link, from either the Harvey or Australind Shire Offices or by contacting 9729 0300.

Quotations close at 2pm (WST) Monday, 22nd September 2014.

Quotations must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Quotation for Major Review - Vacation Care Programs LLC, HRCC and SWSC”.

The lowest quotations or any quotation will not necessarily be accepted.

WASTE & RECYCLING COLLECTIONS

The Shire of Harvey's Kerbside Waste and Recycling collection contractor is Warren Blackwood Waste. Enquiries concerning missed services and bin maintenance, please contact Warren Blackwood Waste on Ph: 1800 049 193.

Please note that all bins should be out for collection before 6am on scheduled collection days.
