At the close of nominations on Thursday 12th September 2013, six (6) nominations were received for the six (6) vacancies on the Council of the Shire of Harvey.  As a result, the persons listed below have been elected unopposed for four (4) year terms expiring on 21st October 2017.

The terms of the newly elected Councillors commence on 19th October 2013.  All newly elected Councillors will be sworn in at a Special Council meeting on Monday 21st October 2013.

Retiring Councillors, Susan Marshall, Elaine Hill and Robert Bertolini did not seek re-election.

A Breath of Fresh Air

This website is designed to assist the local community, businesses and visitors to the region. Encompassing an area of approximately 1,766 km2 and a growing population of 25,924 (ABS, June 2013) the Shire of Harvey is located in the South West region of Western Australia, a leisurely one and a half hours drive from Perth.

The Shire of Harvey’s main Administration Centre is located on Uduc Road, Harvey and a Sub Administration Office on Mulgara Street, Australind.

Council has received an application for Planning Consent to carry out an extractive industry operation at Lot 202 Martin Road, Mornington. The proposal is to extract gravel from five areas within Lot 202 Martin Road, totalling 38.47 hectares. It is proposed to extract 62,500m3 from the existing stockpiles and 250,000m3 gravel from four new areas within the site over a period of five years.

Council is considering the placement of a relocatable ablution facility consisting of a unisex accessible water closet, male and female cubicles adjacent to the existing playground equipment on Reserve No. 31576 Lucy Victoria Avenue, Clifton Park.

The structure is proposed to be sited approximately 60m from Lucy Victoria Avenue to the South of the playground to take advantage of existing vegetation which will partially screen the structure from Lucy Victoria Avenue.  For further details and site plan please find attached files.

Submissions regarding this proposal should be lodged at the Shire Office prior to the close of business on Friday, 6th February 2015.

Please note that all bins should be out for collection before 6am on scheduled collection days.
