Mural Arts Project

Mural Arts Project
27 Sep 2022

A series of wall murals are currently being installed at various sites throughout the Shire.

Our Shire is about to become even brighter as a team of experienced artists are set to transform various spaces across the Shire into vibrant, unique and eye-catching artworks.

  • Andrew Frazer, a multidisciplinary artist, will work on the Wokalup Tavern's south wall, creating a stunning entry statement. The mural concept is to honour the Mornington train tragedy that occurred on 6 November 1920 and the countless human stories that were so deeply impacted on that day.
  • Ian Mutch is an Australian artist exploring beauty through nature, characters and details. Ian will transform the Harvey Pool building, creating themes based on the beauty of the Harvey Region and Harvey River.
  • Jack Bromell is Italian-Australian artist whose work is characterised by an intricate, illustrative style and is heavily inspired by nature, feelings and dreams. Jack will convert the walls of the Leschenault Estuary Eco Museum into a mural, highlighting our beautiful estuary and native fauna.

The Mural Arts Project is part of the Shire's ongoing aspiration to be a creative community that is vibrant, diverse and engaged through arts and culture.

Murals will be completed in October (weather dependent).
