Harvey Community Budget Submission

Each year the Shire of Harvey invites budget submissions from local community groups and organisations for activities and projects that meet the needs of the community. The aim of the Shire Budget Submissions is to strengthen and celebrate the diverse communities within the Shire of Harvey. Each submission is considered on it’s own merits.

Opens Tuesday, 21st February and closes at 4.00 pm Thursday, 20th April 2017.

Applications are invited from community organisations based in the Shire of Harvey that wish to apply for funding from the Alcoa Harvey Sustainability Fund.

Projects will be divided into two categories:

1.     Small Grants (projects between $5,000 and $49,999 in value); and
2.     Major and Forward Planning Grants (projects $50,000 or more in value.)

Not for profit community groups and organisations whose activities benefit the local community are eligible to apply.  All applications will be assessed against the criteria outlined in the Grant Guidelines. Application forms and guidelines can be downloaded below.

Opens Tuesday, 21st February 2017, and closes at 3.00 pm Thursday, 13th April 2017. 

Canvassing of Councillors will disqualify.


Community Benefits Package

Council invites budget submissions for the Community Benefits Package from community, environmental and sporting organisations for community development and infrastructure projects in and around the town sites of Binningup and Myalup.

With input from the Community Reference Group and as a result of the construction of the Southern Seawater Desalination Plant, the Shire of Harvey have entered into an agreement with the Water Corporation to develop a Community Benefits Package. The funding is to be used for projects that will have ongoing benefits to the communities of Binningup and Myalup.

Grant Funding

Grant funding can be a great way for communities to build their capacity and fund worthy projects.  There are a wide range of funding opportunities available to support new and established groups, both via the Shire of Harvey Community Budget Submissions and a large number of funding bodies within and outside the community.

The Department of Local Government has a grants directory which contains programs provided by the West Australian Government as well as private sector organisations.
