| What do you enjoy most about teaching children to swim? What I love most is gaining their trust and watching their confidence grow. It’s so rewarding to see children overcome their fears, learn new skills and realise what they’re capable of. What do you think is the most important thing children gain from swimming lessons, beyond learning the strokes? Confidence and essential survival skills in and around the water. These are skills that can benefit children for life. What’s your favourite moment to see during a child’s swimming journey? When they conquer a fear or finally master a skill they’ve been working towards. Seeing how proud they are of themselves is the best part! How do you help children who might feel nervous or unsure in the water build their confidence? We take it slowly, have fun and remove the pressure. Play-based learning helps children feel comfortable while they gradually develop their skills and confidence. What keeps you motivated to teach swimming and help the next generation become confident and safe in the water? Water is my happy place, and being able to help others enjoy the water really fills my cup. Plus, kids are hilarious – I get to laugh every day! |
