Council has adopted the Shire of Harvey Public Health Plan 2026–2031.

The Plan was adopted at the 23 June 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting. It provides a roadmap for improving health and wellbeing across the Shire over the next five years and recognises that good health is shaped by access to services and strong partnerships.

The Plan was developed to align with the Public Health Act 2016 and identifies seven priority areas:

  • Promoting healthy lifestyles across all life stages
  • Strengthening mental health, social connection and community resilience
  • Creating safe, inclusive and connected environments
  • Protecting and enhancing environmental health and climate resilience
  • Strengthening local capacity for public health leadership and partnership
  • Supporting child health and early development
  • Supporting healthy and active ageing

The Plan was informed by local health data and a review of existing Shire programs and services.

Implementation of the Public Health Plan will occur in partnership with community groups, service providers, government agencies and other stakeholders.
