Nature Play Passport is brought to you by Nature Play WA and the Shire of Harvey and generously supported by the Department of Communities and the Australian Early Development Census.

Better Beginnings family literacy program

Shire of Harvey Libraries are pleased to be part of the Better Beginnings initiative.

The Better Beginnings Family Literacy Program is an initiative coordinated by the State Library of WA and partially funded by Rio Tinto WA Future Fun. The program aims to foster the love to read, write, sing and talk with your child.

Free reading kits are available for parents of newborns and two year olds:

  • For newborns – collect your kit from your community health care nurse
  • For two year olds – collect your kit from any Shire of Harvey library.

There are some great literacy resources you and your child can access on the Better Beginnings website.
