The Shire of Harvey is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Binningup Bowling Club ramp project, delivered with the support of the Shire’s Coastal Communities Fund.
This important upgrade ensures safer and more accessible entry to the club for all community members, including those with mobility challenges. The new ramp is part of the Shire’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive, connected, and resilient coastal communities.
Deputy Shire President John Bromham praised the initiative, saying:
"Projects like this demonstrate how small-scale infrastructure can have a big impact on community inclusion and participation. We’re proud to support the Binningup Bowling Club and help ensure that everyone feels welcome."
The Coastal Communities Fund was established to support locally driven projects that strengthen infrastructure, community wellbeing, and engagement across the Shire’s coastal towns of Myalup and Binningup.
The Binningup Bowling Club ramp project is a shining example of this goal in action.
Binningup Bowling Club President Dennis Roberts is delighted with the result, saying:
“The ramp has been an ongoing project for the club for many years and with many bowlers enjoying playing at the Binningup Bowling Club it is very important to consider their safety and ease of access to the bowling greens. The club has had great praise from those members and visitors using the ramp in the past two months.”
The Shire extends its congratulations to the Club and the local community for their collaboration and commitment to inclusivity.
