The Shire of Harvey is proud to be recognised as a Small Business Friendly Local Government through the WA Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) initiative, demonstrating our commitment to supporting local businesses to start, grow and thrive. Through this initiative, the Shire is committed to reducing red tape, providing strong customer service, supporting local economic growth, and fostering positive relationships with the local business community.
Small businesses are a vital part of both the Australian and local economy. Across Australia, there are more than 2.5 million small businesses, making up over 97% of all businesses nationwide. In Western Australia, small businesses also account for approximately 97% of all businesses operating across the State.
Within the Shire of Harvey, there are more than 1,500 small businesses operating across a diverse range of industries including retail, tourism, construction, agriculture, hospitality, and professional services. The Harvey Region continues to experience strong growth, providing new opportunities for local businesses and investment.
