The Shire advises the community that planned burning activities are proposed to commence from Monday 13 April, subject to suitable weather and operational conditions.
These burns form part of the Shire’s Planned Burning Program, undertaken to reduce fuel loads and help protect life, property, and the environment.
Important Information for Residents
Vegetation across the Shire remains very dry.
- A permit is required for all private burning activities during the Restricted Burning Period from 13 April to 15 May 2026.
- Smoke may be visible in and around burn locations during operations.
- Motorists are asked to drive to the conditions.
The Shire will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and will only proceed when it is safe to do so.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed through the Shire’s communication channels and to ensure they comply with all fire restrictions currently in place.
