The Shire of Harvey will be undertaking roadworks along Government Road, Roelands, between Colton Street and Coalfields Highway from Monday, 28 September to Friday, 6 November 2026.
The works will be completed in two stages to help manage access and minimise disruption, with traffic management in place throughout the project.
During the works, sections of Government Road will be closed to through traffic, with detours clearly signposted. Local residents and property owners will continue to have access, with onsite traffic controllers available to assist where required.
Stage one
The first stage of works will take place from Colton Street to just south of Hope Christian College’s southernmost access point.
This staging has been planned to minimise disruption to school traffic. When students return following the school holidays, buses and other school traffic will continue to have access to Hope Christian College via the northern end of Government Road.
The southern section of Government Road will remain closed during this stage, with detour signage in place to guide motorists.
Motorists are asked to follow all traffic management signage and directions from traffic controllers while travelling through the area.
