About the project
In 2023, the Shire of Harvey engaged Gresley Abas Architects to prepare the Australind Community Precinct Masterplan and Concept Design Package.
While the broader precinct concept has been placed on hold due to cost considerations, the redevelopment of the Australind Shire Office continues to be a priority.
The Australind Office Accommodation Project focuses on delivering this important element, with particular emphasis on the establishment of a new Council Chambers.
Scope and budget overview
With a project budget of $2 million, the scope includes the redevelopment of the existing facilities to accommodate:
- Fit-for-purpose Council Chambers
- Additional staff workspaces and associated facilities
- A modernised and improved customer service reception area
The project aims to enhance functionality, improve community access, and ensure the Shire’s facilities meet current and future operational needs.
Timeline
- February 2026 - Project planning is underway, including the establishment of an internal working group and the development of a detailed Council Brief informed by stakeholder consultation outcomes.
- Concept design and costings will be progressed through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process for proposals, with project milestones targeted through to December 2027.
