Gazetted rubbish disposal sites are situated at the locations and times as listed below and are available for the disposal of refuse.
The dumping of asbestos is not allowed at the Richardson Road site, Harvey, and must be directed to the Stanley Road site Leschenault by appointment, please phone 9797 2404. Remember, asbestos must be wrapped and sealed in plastic and marked appropriately. Rubbish is removed from townsites in accordance with the following collection timetable:

Top Motor vehicle bodies must be disposed of at the Richardson Road refuse site, where a disposal fee of $40 will be charged, or the REGIONAL REFUSE SITE in Stanley Road, Leschenault, where a disposal fee of $10 will be charged. Such vehicles will be stockpiled for ultimate recycling. Top Council currently provides a fortnightly domestic kerbside 240L yellow top mobile bin recyling sysmte. Council recycling contractor, Green Recycling will be establishing a regional materials Recovery Facility to process all recyclable materials and can be contacted on the "Recycling Hotline" phone number 1800 260 033. Please support this scheme by placing only the items listed below in your recycling bin loose. Plastic bottles - with the code 1,2,3 & 5 symbol on the bottom. No other plastic items of any kind. Please remove lids. Glass bottles and jars only. No broken glass, or other types of glass. Please remove lids. Milk and juice cans. Please rinse. Aluminium cans, clean foil and foil trays. All cardboard, including cereal, soap powder boxes and packing boxes. Clean newspapers, glossy inserts and magazines. Clean and untied. Steel/tin cans, including aerosols. Please remove caps.
The Contractor provides a handy magnetic fridge calendar, highlighting collection days for your easy reference. Further calendars can also be obtained from the shire offices on request. Please place your recycling bin out before 6.00am, no more than 1 metre from the kerb line and no less than half a metre from your ordinary rubbish bin, on your fortnightly collection day. Please Note: The 240 litre bin remains in the ownership of Council's contractor and must remain on the property it is delivered to. Top A compulsory weekly rubbish removal service is conducted throughout the gazetted townsites. Household refuse must be deposited in a regulation 240 litre mobile garbage bin supplied by Council’s Rubbish Contractor. Note: Ratepayers may contact Cleanaways Customer Service for missed pick-ups on 1300 309 306. The 240 litre mobile garbage bin should be placed no more than one metre from the kerb-line by 6.00am on collection day, with the front of the bin facing the road. Bins should not be placed in a position that will obstruct any pathway or cycleway and should be placed on the road side of that pathway or cycleway. Please Note: The 240 litre bin remains in the ownership of Councils contractor and must remain on the property it is delivered to. It is the householder’s responsibility to maintain the bin allocated to the property in a clean and serviceable condition. Except on collection day, the bin is to be located behind the building line, or other location approved by the Environmental Health Officer. After the bin has been emptied, return it to its regular place of storage. Each premises is allowed one 240 litre mobile garbage bin at the standard rate. Top Ratepayers serviced with a 240L mobile rubbish bin will receive a tip pass card with 4 free entries valid until 31st August, for a vehicle listed in the light category section only. This card must be shown to the attendant for counter punching. For ratepayers renting their properties, please ensure that the tip pass card is passed on to the tenants. Top Care should be taken when transporting rubbish to a disposal site, as it is an offence to drive a vehicle with an unsecured load or uncovered load that may fall from the vehicle. The dumping of rubbish on roadsides and public reserves is an offence and the Rangers and voluntary inspectors have the power to issue “on the spot” fines or prosecute offenders (penalties up to $1,000).
