Payment difficulties, or short-term financial hardship occur where a change in a person’s circumstances result in an inability to pay rates or service charge debt.
To ensure the Shire of Harvey can offer adequate and fair support, a Financial Hardship Policy was reviewed and adopted by Council in August 2026.
The policy is intended to ensure the Shire offer fair, equitable, consistent and dignified support to ratepayers suffering hardship.
