Repair works to the bridge over the Wellesley River will start on Monday, 10 January 2022.
The bridge over Wellesley River and sections of Wellesley Road North have been closed to all traffic since 7 December 2021 due to several deteriorated bridge structural elements.
Propping of the failed piles and timber retaining replacement works will start on Monday, 10 January 2022 and are estimated to be completed by Friday, 14 January 2022.
Once Main Roads has inspected the repair works, Wellesley Road will be opened to traffic .
The proposed propping will be an interim measure to be able to reopen the bridge. Permanent repairs to the bridge substructure are currently being discussed with Main Roads.
