We are now in the Unrestricted Burning Period.

There are no fire restrictions on burning until 1 November 2025. However, if the Fire Danger Rating is High or above and/or a Total Fire Ban has been put in place then no burning is permitted.

Event applications - online forms

This page contains links to online forms relating to Event Applications. These forms can be saved and completed gradually. Once you submit your form, your information will be automatically sent to a Shire Officer for review.

Before you start, we highly recommend calling one of our Community Development Officers for a chat on (08) 9729 0300. Our friendly team can give you advice and guidance about your event.

Please see below for links to Event Application forms.

We are working to make our forms accessible and user friendly. If you have feedback about any of our forms, please let us know here.

Step 1: Event risk quiz

Event risk is the possibility that an unforeseen circumstance may affect your event

A risk rating is an estimation of how likely this is to happen.

Complete our simple Event Risk Matrix Quiz at the link below to receive a risk rating.

The quiz will give your event a rating of low risk, medium risk, or high risk, depending on:

  • What kind of event it is
  • Expected participant numbers and demographic
  • What sorts of activities there are
  • The kind of venue
  • The distance from the nearest hospital.

If your event is medium or high risk, we will ask for more detailed planning around potential risks in your event application. Your risk rating will also determine how much time you need to allow for submitting your application, as follows:

Low Risk - Please submit your application at least four weeks prior to the event

Medium risk - Please submit your application at least eight weeks prior to the event

High risk - Please submit your application at least 12 weeks prior to the event

Step 2: Prepare your application

Fill out the relevant applications and permits via the online forms below.

Each form can be saved and completed gradually if needed. Please make sure to fill out all relevant sections and upload any documentation requested.

Please read our Accessibility Guidelines for best practice advice around accessibility considerations at your event.

Once you click submit, the information will go to our team for assessment.

We recommend starting with the Event Application. Depending on our needs for the event, you may also need to fill out some extra forms. For example, if you need to hire shire property as part of your event, the Event Application will direct you to complete Application for hire of local government property.

If you need assistance with your application, please call us on (08) 9729 0300.

Step 3: Review

Once we receive your forms, Shire Officers will review your application. We may request some more information, or a meeting, during our review. We will then provide a response.

Step 4: Hold your event

If approved, go ahead and hold your event!
