We invite you to submit your application for the full-time position of Mechanic. This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Shire’s fleet of plant, vehicles and operational equipment to a high standard.

Benefits and Conditions
Conditions of employment for this position are in accordance with the Municipal Employees’ (WA) Award 2021 and Enterprise Agreement with a salary of up to $85,000 per annum plus an industrial allowance of $62.87 per fortnight. The salary comprises of Level 6.3 and an over-award payment, subject to qualifications and experience along with additional benefits and conditions such as:
- Superannuation of 11.5 per cent occupational superannuation from date of commencement, with an opportunity that the Shire will match an employee’s voluntary contribution to their nominated plan provided employee contributes an amount of at least 5 per cent or 6 per cent of their own salary.
- Full-time position 76.50 hours per fortnight. Hours of work are from 7.00am to 4.00pm per day Monday to Friday with a nine day fortnight.
- Four weeks paid annual leave, including a 17.5 per cent leave loading.
- A probationary period of three months is applicable to this position.
- Shire vehicle provided for during business hours and commuter use in accordance with Shire Policy.
- Mobile phone for business use in accordance with Shire Policy.
- Free membership to the Leschenault Leisure Centre, the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre and the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool.
- A medical examination and a current police clearance will be required prior to appointment, costs to be reimbursed by the Shire.
