LLC lap pool will be closed for retiling from 31 October 2022 until 27 February 2023.

Remedial works at the Leschenault Leisure Centre's lap pool are set to start on Monday, 31 October 2022. The lap pool will be closed for retiling for approximately 17 weeks.  

LLC’s Leisure Pool, spa and steam room will remain open at reduced operating hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 5pm
  • Saturday – 8am to 2pm
  • Sunday – Closed
  • Public Holidays - Closed

Infant and pre-school age swimming lessons will continue to run at LLC throughout term 4 with classes being extended into afternoon time slots.

Full refunds will be issued for any payments taken so far for affected programs for term 4. A free suspension for the duration of the works will be offered to aquatic membership holders. 

Please note, Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool will be open from Monday, 31 October 2022 with extended hours to cope with the additional usage while LLC tiling works are completed.

Memberships

How will my membership be affected (full, aquatic, family pool memberships)?

All aquatic memberships will be suspended from Monday, 31 October 2022 until the pool is reopened. Once the pool is reopen, the end date of your membership will be extended accordingly. As the aquatic portion of the full membership cannot be suspended, we will be offering extra days to these memberships. Please note that extra days are not available on flexi memberships.

What are the timeframes for membership refunds?

Cancellation requests and refund timeframes will be processed as per the usual cancellation procedure. Any requests for membership refunds must be communicated to the LLC prior to the pool closure on Monday, 31 October 2022.

I have paid for a swim program for Term 4. What can I do now?

The Lagoon Pool, spa and sauna will be open during the following times:

Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5pm

Saturday - 8am to 2pm

The Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool will be open during the following times:

Opening Hours Monday, 31 October 2022 to Sunday, 26 February 2023

  • Monday - 6am to 7pm*
  • Tuesday - 8am to 7pm
  • Wednesday - 6am to 7pm
  • Thursday - 8am to 7pm**
  • Friday - 6am to 7pm***
  • Saturday and Sunday - 10am to 6pm
  • Public holidays (27 December 2022, 2 January 2023, 26 January 2023) - 12pm to 6pm
  • New Year's Eve - 9am to 2pm

Yes, primary school swimming lessons will be affected by the pool closure. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Our staff are working hard with schools to ensure that new arrangements are being made to accommodate primary school swimming. Please contact your primary school for more information.

What are the impacts on the primary school swimming lessons?

Unfortunately there will be no in-term primary school swimming lessons held at the Leschenault Leisure Centre from Monday, 31 October 2022. Please contact your primary school for more information about alternative arrangements for term 4 swimming lessons.

Was the closure of the Leschenault Leisure Centre communicated effectively with local primary schools?

The Department of Education Swimming and Water Safety Division holds responsibility for communicating important updates and changes to in-term swimming lessons with schools. The LLC advised this division of the pool closure at the earliest possible convenience.
