Albermarle has provided an update on the Paris Grove workforce accommodation precinct in Australind.
Albermarle has shared an update on the $140 million Paris Grove workforce accomodation village under construction in Australind. Paris Grove will provide accommodation for up to 800 people working on the $2 billion expansion of the nearby Kemerton Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant. Recently, Albermarle launched the Paris Grove Community Reference Group to consult with Australind residents and gather feedback on the development. The lithium producer also awarded a $70 million contract to Compass Group for onsite catering, cleaning, security, grounds services, facilities management and health and lifestyle services. Meanwhile, two additional Kemerton expansion contracts have been awarded to UGL ($330 million) and Monadelphous ($200 million) The Kemerton expansion will see plant capacity double to up to 100 ktpa (100,000 metric tonnes) of lithium hydroxide each year. According to Albermarle, the project will likely create more than 1000 new jobs. The lithium producer has launched a recruitment drive to drum up interest in work.
