How Question Time Works

To help things run smoothly and respectfully, here’s a quick overview of how this part of the agenda works:

Before You Ask

  • Please begin by stating your name clearly.
  • Each person may ask up to two questions so that everyone gets a fair chance. Once everyone has had a turn, you may ask additional questions if time permits.

How Questions Are Handled

  • Some questions may be answered right away, while others might be taken on notice, meaning we’ll follow up with a written response after the meeting. If your question is taken on notice you’ll receive a written response from the CEO.

What Might Not Be Answered

The Presiding Member may decide not to answer a question if:

  • It was already asked in submissions received prior to the meeting.
  • It's presented more as a statement than a question. (We’ll help rephrase it if possible).
  • It’s offensive or defamatory.

Time Limits

  • Each person has 2 minutes to ask their question.
  • The Council may extend question time if needed.
