Library Pop-ups supported!

Council has supported library pop-ups!

These are alternative ways to deliver services in places without libraries. 

In April 2024, we began trialling pop ups to see if they would work.

In May 2025, we presented our report to Council.

So, what did our report find?

Pop-ups are a cost effective and sustainable way to deliver library services to smaller towns in the Harvey Region.

Pop-up libraries can revitalise empty spaces and have the potential to draw additional users into these facilities.

What's next?

At the Tuesday, 27 May 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting, Council supported our library pop-ups! 

This means we will:

• Continue the Brunswick Community Resource Centre book nook
• Explore relocation of the full Yarloop library service to the Yarloop Community Resource Centre
• Support the expansion of pop-ups to other appropriate locations, potentially integrating with community facilities.
