The Shire of Harvey, in partnership with the Harvey Golf Club and Alcoa, has hit a hole-in-one with the completion of major upgrades to the Harvey Golf Club facilities - marking a new chapter on the fairway for this much-loved community venue.
The extension project has expanded the club’s footprint to include an enhanced dining area and a new alfresco seating space overlooking the greens. These improvements also feature upgraded accessibility and enhanced fire-fighting services, ensuring the club remains in top form to serve both the local community and visiting players.
This $768,000 project was made possible through a strong partnership drive between the Alcoa Harvey Sustainability Fund Community Grants program ($140,000), the Shire of Harvey ($263,000), and the Harvey Golf Club ($365,000). Construction was delivered by Civilcon, with works completed on time and under par, to a high standard.
Harvey Golf Club Inc. President Michael Lowe said the project was four years in the planning and is well worth the wait.
“ We are thrilled to see the completion of the Clubhouse extension – it has been four years in the planning and execution – and the result is well worth the wait.
“Our thanks to the Shire of Harvey, Alcoa, and all involved for their support and collaboration.
“The new facilities not only enhance our members’ and visitors’ experience but also position the Harvey Golf Club as a premier venue for regional golf events.
“We’re proud to host the upcoming Alcoa Harvey Open 2025 and can’t wait to showcase the improvements to players and guests alike.”
Shire of Harvey President Michelle Campbell said the project reflects the strength of collaboration between local government, industry, and community - a true team effort.
“The Harvey Golf Club is a key social and recreational hub for our community,” President Campbell said. “With this extension, the club is now even better positioned to drive growth, welcome more visitors, and provide an inclusive space for everyone to enjoy.”
The Alcoa Harvey Open 2025, a 36-hole Stableford event, will tee off between 14–16 November 2025, with the newly upgraded facilities ready to host the tournament in style.
