The restricted burning period dates are subject to change due to variable weather conditions. Permits to burn are required for the restricted burning period and must be obtained from the Bush Fire Control Officer.

Access and Inclusion Advisory Group

The Shire of Harvey’s Advisory Groups aim to improve community engagement and inform the Shire of the needs and aspirations in the community.

Each Advisory Group has Council Representatives and Community Representatives. 

Advisory Group meetings are open to the public. For further information, please contact the Community Development team on 9729 0300 or email.

Role of the Group

To advise the Shire of Harvey on the review and implementation of the Access and Inclusion Plan.

Objectives of the Group

  • To advise the Shire of Harvey on community engagement activities relating to access and inclusion.
  • To advise the Shire of Harvey about promoting and building accessible and inclusive communities.
  • To advise the Shire of Harvey regarding the development of accessible and inclusive services, buildings and facilities.

Adam Johnson

Adam is passionate about social inclusion and disability access. With 20 years of experience in community development, Adam was a founding member of the Most Accessible Regional City in Australia (MARCIA) initiative.

Brenda Nicol

Brenda is a local volunteer who is focused on advocating for people with disability and achieving positive outcomes for everyone in the area.
Lawrence MittingLawrence wants to make a difference in his community as a person with a disability. He wants to see the Shire become more accessible and inclusive.
Michelle RobinsMichelle is passionate about creating an inclusive community beyond physical access to buildings and environments. 
Robyn SouthWith extensive experience in community roles, Robyn wants to be involved in decision-making and strategic planning to assist people with disabilities.
Sue ManningSue is passionate about her local community and ensuring it is accessible and welcoming. This passion comes from her experience as a mother of a son with disabilities.
Tristan Payne Having firsthand knowledge as a wheelchair user, Tristian, a disability support worker, is focused on advocating for a more accessible community for himself and others.
