This financial year, the spotlight has been put on road upgrades, waste collection, park improvements and funding for our libraries and recreation centres.
Council has endorsed the 2025-2026 Annual Budget; a balanced spending plan that focuses on the everyday services that matter most to our community.
This financial year, the spotlight has been put on road upgrades, waste collection, park improvements and funding for our libraries and recreation centres, along with dozens of other essential services that keep the Harvey Region in top shape. Families can expect new developments and features at important community facilities, including new shade sails planned for Settlers Hall Playground and a new BBQ unit with accompanying shelter at Fees Field in Australind.
The Shire of Harvey has also budgeted for a variety of critical infrastructure work, such as Binningup drainage upgrades and resealing works along Harvey-Quindanning Road. Shire President Michelle Campbell said these community improvements would be delivered alongside several major infrastructure projects designed to meet the needs of a growing Harvey Region. “This is a financially responsible Budget that takes on board cost pressures faced around Australia, while still supporting the projects, services and programs our community cares about,” the Shire President said. “We’re excited to be progressing with Stage 1 of the Harvey Community Precinct and the Leschenault Leisure Centre Courts Expansion – projects designed to accommodate our population growth and increasing user group needs. “Community-driven projects have also been given the greenlight. “Expect to see the Collie River fishing platform project move forward and the highly anticipated Harvey Accessible Playground begin to take shape.” Major projects advancing this year were identified in the community’s Funding our Future campaign, launched in January. The Shire successfully secured election commitment funding for these projects – including the Collie River fishing platform, Munda Biddi Harvey Spur Trail and the Virgo Brace Playground upgrades – and will be sharing updates as they progress.
